ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day, observed on April 25th, is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand. It honors the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served and sacrificed their lives in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. The day marks the anniversary of the ANZACs’ landing at Gallipoli in 1915 during World War I.

  • Wreath Laying: Officials, veterans, and the public place wreaths at our service at the Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre.

  • Marches & Parades: Veterans, current service members, and descendants participate in the procession, starts on Te Atatu Road by Kaumatua Reserve, along to Harbour View Road , into Pringle Road and then into the Community Centre.

  • Minute of Silence: Observed to reflect on the sacrifices of those who served.

  • The Ode & Last Post: Recitation of The Ode of Remembrance, followed by the Last Post and Reveille.
