My name is Tamar Palomino-Heta Head Chef / Contractor (Calibre Foods).
My wife and I Moana have always had a strong affinity with the elderly. We were both raised partially by our grandparents, with Moana being in the hospitality industry 13 years working for the Waitakere licensing trust as function coordinator, bar manager and restaurant manager, her experience lies in the front of house.
I have had the opportunity to work with some of New Zealand’s best chefs. I was trained at Northland Polytechnic beginning my career at 16 at Revas on the waterfront Whangarei town basin, then Sails Restaurant in fine dining where I worked for 8 years. First year under the head chef Scott Taylor, then the second head chef and current head chef Jason Blackie. After that I worked for Brenton Low at A deco Restaurant in Whangarei Kamo, their passion for food has inspired my love for food. Wanting to provide our RSA family with a finer standard of food full of flavour.
Tuesday – Saturday lunch 12.noon – 2.pm Dinner 5pm – 8pm
Sunday 1pm – 8pm
Catering for special events at other times can be arranged.
